In a few hours’ time comes the month of the fast. And in a few hours’time, imams’ sermons  will be making their way through the dehydrated ears of the followers in a bid to water their consciousness, be it for as little as one sole month.
But I am in no doubt that the message content of such sermons will not undergo any change whatsoever. Imams will regard us, as usual, as disbelievers. They will by no means shift us nearer to everyday life, and nor will they draw real life nearer to us. Will they spare dawa (the Good Spell) and save it up for those who really need it; disbelievers, skeptics, Christians, Buddhists and the like ?
As I see it, and only God knows best about the real thing, our imams’ sermons will be for the umpteenth time exclusively draining the “1st ijtihad”, as if they’re in everlasting rivalry with the preaching of “2nd ijtihad”; that of teachers, journalists and politicians belonging to the uprooted, westernized hybrid elite, whereas they have  to tailor their teaching to the true believers’ will power and needs, thus making sure their discourse will not distinguish “1st” from “2nd” , which is “The 3rd Ijtihad”; “Integrationist Ijtihad.”
